In navigating a new year, simplicity is key. Here are 5 uncomplicated strategies to not only maintain but enhance your strength, fitness, and overall well-being:
1. Drink More Water: Aim for at least 8 cups (64 oz) daily, with the ideal goal being half your body weight in ounces. Start by reaching the minimum and track your progress each day.
2. Get More Sleep: Prioritize a minimum of 7 hours for optimal well-being. If achieving this is a challenge, focus on spending at least 7 hours in bed each night.
3. Move A Little More: Health isn’t synonymous with daily intense workouts. Aim for 3-5 sessions weekly—2-3 strength-based and 1-2 cardio-based. Alternatively, engage in 20 minutes of daily movement, including outdoor walks. Keep yourself accountable with a tracking method.
4. Eat A Little Better: Transitioning overnight to a 100% clean diet can be daunting. Instead, ask, “How can I make this meal 1% better?” Consider simple swaps, like trading starch for more veggies. Share pictures of your meals for feedback.
5. Be Kind To Yourself: Celebrate successes, learn from failures, and practice daily kindness to yourself and others. Small, consistent decisions pave the way to success—no need to complicate it.
Success is a compilation of consistent small choices. Keep it simple.
