Is weightlifting for beginners?

I get asked a lot if weightlifting is for beginners.

Well, for starters … Everyone was a beginner at some point, right?

But here’s some exciting news: Research shows that significant strength gains can be made with just a few workouts.

A recent study from the University of Texas at Austin found that just four seconds of all-out exercise can notably enhance cardiovascular fitness and build muscle mass. Yes, you read that right – four seconds!

Another study in Sports Medicine sheds light on the concept of “Newbie Gains.” When inactive people start weightlifting, they can expect to gain around four to seven pounds of extra muscle in the first three months. Over the first year, you could burn 12-24% body fat while adding 10 to 25 pounds of lean muscle. What beginner wouldn’t sign up for that?

If you’ve ever thought weightlifting is too intense, too much, dangerous, or unnecessary, it’s time to reconsider. Weightlifting is by far the most effective strategy for fat loss and muscle gain, and the science solidly supports it … especially for beginners/

So, if you’ve ever thought about starting a weightlifting program or adding more strength training to your routine, this might be the perfect time. If you’d like to learn more about how to get started, hit reply.
