​What’s Your Destination?

With restrictions being lifted and vaccines widely available, most families are able to think about heading out on a vacation again.

Many of us are finally getting to see family members we were isolated from for almost a year and a half. And vacation traditions that were put on hold are, thankfully, back on the table.

It’s easy for most of us to visualize our ideal vacation destination. For some, it’s Disney World. Others prefer something tropical, like Aruba or Cancun. A cruise or a week on the beach in Hawaii is vacation perfection for others. I’m a lazy week on a beach kind of guy.

But today, I want to ask you to visualize a different kind of destination.

Where do you want to be a year from now with your body and health?

What’s your physical and emotional destination?

It’s a little more difficult to visualize this, but it’s a worthwhile exercise. Carve out some quiet time for yourself, close your eyes, and visualize how you’ll look and feel a year from now. How will your clothes fit? What will your mental outlook be? On an ideal day, what will you be doing … and who will you be doing it with?

It’s not uncommon to plan a special trip a year in advance. But sometimes, we forget that we’re always on a journey … and if we don’t have a destination in mind, it’s going to be pretty difficult to achieve that ideal look, feeling or state of emotional happiness.

So while I hope you’ll be able to visit your favorite vacation destination again soon, I’d be even happier if you had a health and wellness destination in mind.
