You’re doing everything you need to.
You’re eating right…you’re exercising…
And for the most part, you feel really good about your body and how it looks.
But:
There are some days when your pants—which fit the day before—end up feeling tight and hard to pull up your legs.
Have you experienced this?
Although you may run to the scale to see if you’ve gained weight…it probably has more to do with bloating.
Bloating, which is usually an accumulation of gas somewhere in your body, can be one of the most frustrating aspects of losing weight.
Although it can deter you…there are some simple ways to eliminate bloating—fast.
If you are noticing a little more bloating lately, here are some simple tips you can start to get rid of the bloat—and fast:
1. Load Up on Probiotics
If you’re bloated, then one of the easiest ways to get rid of it is loading up on probiotic-rich foods. These foods balance out your gut, which could keep the bacteria from over-producing gas. You should include more yogurt, fermented foods, and products such as Kefir. But a word of caution: avoid foods that contain sugar, as this may be counterproductive to good gut health.
2. Stay Hydrated
One thing that often leads to bloating is constipation that results in gas. How can you eliminate this? Drinking more water. Staying hydrated softens the stools, therefore making them easier to pass. Along with getting rid of any backed up issues, you’re also going to eliminate the gas associated with impacted bowels.
3. Watch Your Sodium Intake
If you notice you’re bloated after an especially salty meal, it’s because the sodium is causing water retention. You may notice your fingers and feet are swollen, and a protruding belly. The easiest way to avoid this is to cut back on your sodium intake—and replace it with fresh herbs and spices. Not only will this help eliminate bloating, it may also do wonders for your blood pressure numbers.
If you’ve started a weight loss program—or you’ve been on one for quite some time—and you’re experiencing bloating, it could be due to: too much salt, not enough water, and an imbalance in your gut health. However, by making a few small tweaks to your diet, you could see less bloating and a slimmer midsection in no time at all.
