You ARE good enough

It’s easy for a health coach like myself to think it’s easy to start training.

After all, that’s what I do six or seven days a week … because I love it, and it’s my job.

But today I wanted to write about the people out there … and maybe this is you … who fit one of the following categories:

  • Gained some weight during the pandemic.
  • Stopped going to the gym when the shutdown happened and haven’t been back since.
  • Know you need to get back into a workout routine, but aren’t sure where — or how — to start.

First, all of the above is quite common … so if this is you, don’t beat yourself up.

Just understand what might be causing your hesitancy.

As it usually does, it all comes back to one flawed belief.

“I’m not good enough.”

One thing I’ve learned in my study of mindset and human psychology is that, if something doesn’t feel good, there’s only one reason.

It’s based on a belief that isn’t true.

So even if you can muster up the courage to start training again, there may be a voice inside your head telling you that people are going to judge you … that you’re not going to be able to keep up … or that you need to “get in better shape first” before taking the leap.

I’m not going to call these excuses, because they’re very real obstacles that I know many people are wrestling with these days.

But remember: None of these beliefs is true.

What’s true is that you ARE good enough, and you CAN do this.

Especially if you find a supportive, no-judgment environment in which to do it.

An environment with people who, just like you, were unsure of themselves when they started.

But … they started.

And they started taking action … which we know produces momentum, and ultimately, results.

It’s really not that complicated.

But it CAN be intimidating.

And that’s OK.

So if this is you, understand where your doubts are coming from … and that those doubts are based on beliefs that aren’t true.

And if they’re not true, then guess what?

The opposite must be true.

You ARE good enough.

You CAN do this.

Results are earned, and only come from taking action … even the smallest of actions that you can take today, or quite literally, right now.

So what are you going to do?

What are you going to decide to do TODAY that you can look back on in a few weeks or months and say, “I’m really happy I did THAT.”

Whatever that thing is … do it today. Your future self will thank you.
