From a young age, we’ve been taught to focus on the few things we’ve done wrong instead of the many things we’ve done right.
For example: A client came in on Monday recently and I asked her, “How was your weekend?”
She hesitated for a moment and said, “Terrible. Way too much food.”
She chose to pick out the one thing she overindulged in rather than celebrate the grilled chicken salad she had for lunch or all the fun she had with her friends.
That’s because we’ve been taught to grade ourselves all wrong.
So when it comes to evaluating progress toward your fitness goals, stop focusing on the mistakes and start celebrating your successes.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you begin to receive more of the things you want if you put more of your energy and focus into them … and less energy and focus into the things you don’t want.
