I am Pain-Free Movement Specialist.
I talk a lot about how you can ‘heal’ your back pain but why the hell should you listen to me
I’m not a doctor I’m not a physical therapist and I’m not a chiropractor.
I’m not saying that if you go to these people, you’re not going to get your back pain fixed but more than likely you’re probably not because the doctors, the chiropractors, and the physical therapists, a lot of times, deal more with the symptoms of the back pain rather than what’s causing the back pain — the actual problem of what’s causing the back pain
You don’t want to have surgery or pills or an adjustment that only deals with the symptoms because the problem is still there.
If the problem is still there, the pain WILL come back
When the alignment goes away, the pills wear off and whatever damage they did to your back from the surgery when that finally goes away, all the pain comes back. Every one of my clients that has come to me to help heal their back pain has gone to chiropractors, has gone to physical therapists, has gone to doctors and a lot of them have even had surgery and their pain came back and they just wanted something to get rid of it
Let me back up a little bit because I think I’m getting ahead of myself here
About 27 years ago now, after I started my fitness journey, back when I was in my late teens, I really didn’t know what I was doing and eventually ended up injuring my back pretty badly.
I was in a level of pain that most people will never experience. It was very detrimental. I was 17 and I moved around like a decrepit 70-year-old man.
All the stuff they gave me — the physical therapists, the chiropractors (thankfully I didn’t go to a doctor and get surgery) — the stuff would work temporarily. Very temporarily. Then the pain came back. No matter what, my day started off well but then by the end of it I could barely move even on the stuff I was taking.
Nothing really worked and life just sucked for about 18 months.
Then, finally, I was like screw this, I need to do something to get rid of the back pain. I started doing a lot of stuff, that back then, they pretty much recommended that I never do ever again because it would just make my back pain worse.
My journey of trial and error took about another 18 months of going through this, that and the other thing. Some of it worked great, some of it set me back a little bit but through this trial and error, I learned what to do and what not to do so I can also help other discover what to do and what not to do so they don’t go through the same experience I did.
During my time of figuring everything out, I really started getting everything stronger and it really did well. Granted there were some setbacks because I probably, like I tell my clients, got a little too ahead of myself and did things that I probably shouldn’t have yet.
I’ve been back pain-free for 15+ years now.
I’m not saying my back doesn’t get cranky. I’ll still do stuff and it kind of gets sore and will tell me to stop doing that but I never have the level of pain that I did. I mean it was excruciating. I would be suffering. I could barely walk. I had to take a ton of pain pills to ‘fix’ it. I learned that most of the stuff that professionals have you do just treats the symptoms, it does not treat the problem and you have to figure out what the root cause of the problem is. Most likely it’s not structural and I’ll get into that on our call but you have to deal with the root cause and that’s exactly what I do you now. I take all my clients and I look at everything they’re doing in their life to figure out what’s causing what, where the weaknesses are, where the tightnesses are and we work at that specifically. We deal with the problem itself.
Yes, the fix isn’t instantaneous, I’ll tell you that right now it’ll take a good two to three months before you really notice a huge difference in your strength but the pain will probably start going down fairly quickly. You’ll really notice a huge difference in two to three months when everything starts strengthening up and you know the problems that you’ve had for years finally start being fixed and they go away.
Yes, it takes a little bit longer than taking the drugs, getting the adjustment, and having the surgery but it’ll actually last forever. Like I said, I’ve been back pain free for 15+ years now and I don’t have to do all the stuff that I did to get myself into the position where my back doesn’t bother me anymore. I don’t have to do all the mobility, the stretching and the strengthening exercises because my muscles already know how to activate and I know what I need to do to keep everything where it is so I’m not really focusing on the back pain because it’s gone. I have dealt with the problem, I don’t have the issue anymore, I don’t have to focus on it. I don’t have to go back and constantly do stuff and I can help you do the same thing
I would like to help you become pain free too.
